Dog Walking
 
I walk dogs in and around Maidenhead.
Dogs will be walked for 1 hour or half an hour; the time will start when we begin walking.
I would like to join you on at least one walk with your dog. This will help me assess your dog’s walking behaviour as well as getting to know them.
Dogs will be walked on their own unless I have a second dog that I feel will get on with and enjoy walking with your dog. Permission will be sought from both owners before dogs are walked together.
Please ensure that your dog wears an identification tag. The Control of Dogs Order 1992 states that the owner of a dog or the person in charge of a dog that is not wearing a collar in a public place shall be guilty of an offence against the Animal Health Act 1981. Dogs must wear a tag embossed with the Name, Address and Telephone Number of its owner.
Dogs should be fully vaccinated against the normal diseases i.e. Distemper, Parvovirus, Infectious Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Canine Parainfluenza Virus.
The Kennel Cough Vaccination, Bordetella Bronchiseptica is not essential but dogs can contract Kennel Cough from “dog walking areas” not just in a kennel environment.
A questionnaire should be completed by the owner before I will walk any dog. These questions will help me bond with your dog and get to know his/her habits. It will also help me tailor the walk to your dog’s needs.
